Neonatal Resuscitation Program
UAMS and the American Academy of Pediatrics have partnered to offer the Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP). NRP provides an evidence-based approach to resuscitation of the newborn for physicians, nurses, respiratory therapists and other health care professionals who care for newborns at the time of delivery. Focus is placed on methodology, critical leadership, communication, and teamwork.
With changes announced in the 7th Edition, the course now consists of two parts: (1) online self-study course; and (2) hands-on return demonstration of the skills taught in part one.
After a clinician has completed the online, self-study course, the Perinatal Outreach Education Team (POET) can assist with the skill assessment. The assessment can be scheduled at any facility in Arkansas and can take place throughout the year.
