Following Baby Back Home – Home Visiting Section of UAMS Kids First
Following Baby Back Home (FBBH) provides home visiting and care management services for families of high-risk infants following their discharge from the Neonatal intensive Care Unit (NICU). FBBH services are designed to address your infant’s growth, social, and emotional development with guidance to sustain appropriate medical follow up and care. A home visiting team made up of an RN and a social worker closely coordinates with the infant’s primary care provider, specialty physicians, and clinics to assure continuity of care. Services are provided as long as needed for children ages 0 – 3.
The goals of the program are:
1. To reduce preventable re-hospitalizations and emergency room visits
2. Improve compliance to medical appointments and immunizations
3. To provide assistance in identifying local resources to meet the service needs of the infant and family
4. To build the family’s skills and confidence in providing a safe, nurturing home for their baby
FBBH provides services free of charge to the family in six regions of the state of Arkansas – Northwest, Northeast, River Valley, Central, South and Southwest Arkansas. FBBH offices are located in Lowell, Pocahontas, Morrilton, Pine Bluff, Little Rock and Magnolia. Interpreter services are available for non-English speaking families. Funding is provided by UAMS ANGELS program in cooperation with AR Medicaid and through the federal MIECHV home visiting grant.
